Instructions
Tamarind Masala Powder
In a pan, heat all the ingredients one by one (don’t mix together & heat)
Saute it well, once everything is slightly brown, switch of the stove
Keep all the ingredients aside for it to come to normal temperature.
Once it cools down, grind it & get in the powder format (as shown in the pic)
For Tamarind Rice
Soak the tamarind in water & keep it aside for sometime.
In a pan, add oil & heat it well.
Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, channa dal & dry red chilly & saute it for few minutes
Drain the water from the tamarind, add the water into the pan.
Saute it again by adding turmeric powder & salt to it.
Let the water keep boiling well.
Oil should be separated, till than it should be kept on the stove.
When you see the oil is separated, add Asafoetida powder & masala powder into it & saute it well
Now mix this with the rice that has been cooked
Ready to serve,
