Ingredients
- Tamarind Rice
- 1 Cup Boiled (Cooked) Rice Normal, Dont use Basmati you will not get the flavour
- 100 Gm Tamarind
- 1 Tbspn Curry Leaves
- 1 Tbspn Channa Dal Split Bengal Gram
- 1/2 Tspn Mustard seeds
- 5-6 Pieces Dry red chillies
- 1 Tspn Salt
- 1 Tspn Tamarind Masala Powder
- 1/4 Tspn Asafoetida Hing
- Tamarind Masala Powder
- 100 Gm Coriander seeds
- 1 Tbspn Channa Dal Split Bengal Gram
- 1 Tbspn Urad Dal
- 1 Tspn black pepper
- 1 Tspn Cumin seeds
- 1 Tspn Fenugreek seeds
- 1 Tbspn sesame seeds
- 3-4 Pieces Dry red chillies

Instructions
Tamarind Masala Powder
- In a pan, heat all the ingredients one by one (don't mix together & heat)
- Saute it well, once everything is slightly brown, switch of the stove
- Keep all the ingredients aside for it to come to normal temperature.
- Once it cools down, grind it & get in the powder format (as shown in the pic)
For Tamarind Rice
- Soak the tamarind in water & keep it aside for sometime.
- In a pan, add oil & heat it well.
- Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, channa dal & dry red chilly & saute it for few minutes
- Drain the water from the tamarind, add the water into the pan.
- Saute it again by adding turmeric powder & salt to it.
- Let the water keep boiling well.
- Oil should be separated, till than it should be kept on the stove.
- When you see the oil is separated, add Asafoetida powder & masala powder into it & saute it well
- Now mix this with the rice that has been cooked
- Ready to serve,
