Instructions
In a pressure cooker, wash dal nicely.
Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, sambar powder, asafoetida powder, chopped tomatoes, long onions.
Close the cooker and pressure it. Allow 5-6 whistles and ensure it is cooked well.
In another pan, add oil heat it well.
Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and than mix with dal that was boiled.
Add tamarind pulp and allow it boil for few more minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with idli or pongal
