Ingredients
- 1 Big Cup Toor dal Split Pigeon Peas
- 2 Onions Sliced long
- 2 tomatoes chopped
- 1 Tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 Tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 Tsp Sambar Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Asafoetida
- 1 Tbsp Curry Leaves
- 1 Tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 Tbsp Coriander leaves
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 2 Tsp Tamarind Pulp

Instructions
- In a pressure cooker, wash dal nicely.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, sambar powder, asafoetida powder, chopped tomatoes, long onions.
- Close the cooker and pressure it. Allow 5-6 whistles and ensure it is cooked well.
- In another pan, add oil heat it well.
- Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and than mix with dal that was boiled.
- Add tamarind pulp and allow it boil for few more minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve with idli or pongal
