Ingredients
- For sambhar
- 1 cup arhar dal
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 pinch Asafoetida hing
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 tsp sambhar powder
- 2 tsp Salt or according to taste
- 1 Dry red chillies whole
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 15 Curry Leaves
- 1/2 cup Tamarind pulp soaked in water and deseeded
- 2 Big Onions chopped
- 3 big tomatoes grinded
- 2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 tsp Oil
- for idli
- 1 cup Semolina
- 1 cup Curd
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 packet eno
- 2 tsp Mustard seeds
- leaves Coriander for garnishing

For Sambhar
- first of all take daal in cooker, add water, salt, turmeric, asafeotida, cumin, red chilly and 1 chopped tomato to it.pressure cook it for 15 minutes.
- In another pan take oil add rye,onions, rest tomatoes, red chill powder,sambhar masala ,curry leaves and saute them till oil comes out.
- In another pan boil tamarind in water and deseed it and add this pulp to dal in cooker.
- Add tadka u made into dal and pressure cook it again for 15-20 minutes
- Now sambhar is ready and garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
For idli
- Take a bowl and add semolina, curd,salt,and make a batter ,if it is thick u may add some water to it.
- Now add pack of eno and mix it properly and immediately transfer it to idli stand,top it with rye and coriander leaves and Microwave it for 3 minutes.
- Take out idli stand and let it cool down for 2 minutes.
- Now take out idli and serve them with hot sambhar.
