Ingredients
- For dal
- 1 cup arhar dal
- 1 tsp Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 Onions chopped
- 5 tomatoes ground to paste
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 inch Ginger grinded
- 5-6 cloves garlic made into fine paste
- 2 tsp Garam masala powder
- For rice
- 1 bowl rice basati, soaked in water for 20 minutes
- 2 Onions sliced
- 1 big cardamom
- 1 small stick cinnamon
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 tsp Garam masala powder

For dal
- Take dal in cooker,add water,salt,turmeric,astoefida and pressure cook it for 10 minutes.
- Now take a wok add oil,heat it,add rye,ginger garlic paste,saute them,now add onions,saute them till brown now add tomatoes paste.
- Cook till the oil separates out.now put this tadka into the cooked dal.
- Again pressure cook dal for 10 minutes.
- Now dal is ready and garnish with garam masala .
For rice
- Soak rice in water for 20 minutes.
- Now take a cooker add oil in it,heat and add cumin seeds,cardamom, cinnamon and sliced onions, saute till brown.
- Now add salt,garam masala powder to it add rice and double the amount of water than rice
- Pressure cook rice for 5-7 minutes till u feel of aroma of cooked rice appears.
- Now open cooker when steam finishea in cooker.
- Now serve these rice with dal
